985 Series System

785 Series System

The 985 System is similar to the 785 but offers greater rotational movement and more power. For the pan, we include the GDP985A-BM. The pan is a very rigid aluminum platform that can easily handle up to 50 pounds! The stock gear ratio is perfect for both slow and fast pans. This ratio can easily be changed if you are needing even slower movements or faster pans. For the tilt, we include the GDT985-8.00A. This tilt offers the same movements as the pan since it utilizes the same patented gear-drive system. The stock ratio offers a good balance of speed and precision. This ratio can also be quickly changed for more precision or speed up to 400° per second! The joystick included is the JS-200. This is currently our only joystick offering and will handle both the pan and tilt. We also include eight (8) of the 48” heavy-duty servo extensions, four for the pan and four for the tilt. These will allow you to control the unit up to 16 feet from the joystick. Notice: We do not recommend this system for in-motion videography, it is better suited for point and shoot video or still photographs. Remember this is a close-loop system and will mimic your exact joystick movements.
Several customers are using both the 785 and the 985 units as antenna tracking systems.

If you are looking for an extremely smooth precision system for professional videography, we recommend our PT-2100.

This 785 Series is a servo based, precision pan and tilt system that works well for point and shoot videography, still photography, and antenna tracking systems. Although the 785 System works for shooting video, if your application requires extremely slow, smooth movements (less than 3° per second) you may notice slight steps in the motion. Depending on your controller, these systems will rotate about 300° per axis. For the pan, we include the GDP785A-BM. This pan is a very rigid aluminum platform that can easily handle up to 50 pounds! The stock gear ratio is perfect for both relatively slow and fast pans. This ratio can easily be changed if you are needing even slower movements or faster pans. If you choose a slower ratio, the amount of pan will decrease but precision will increase. For the tilt, we include the GDT785-8.00A. This tilt offers the same smooth movements as the pan since it utilizes the same patented gear-drive system.
